We have loads of activities on offer during each each session. We split our activies over 3 areas :

Outside
There is always loads going on in the hall from Arts & Crafts, a selection of toys and board games, reading/quiet area, TV and games console, there is always something for everyone. All our toys and games are rotated weekly giving the children something new and exciting to play with.
Outside we bring out loads of equipment for the kids to enjoy- footballs, basketball, tennis rackets, diddy cars, scooters and den building. Everyone loves playing different games outside from Octopus to football competitions.
On wet days we use the gym hall where we play loads of different games including Basketball, dodgeball, football, Octopus, Line tag and plenty more!
Each week is themed for our key workers to arrange new fun ideas for activities for the children to enjoy. We always ask the children for ideas or repeat ideas in the future that they enjoy doing. Staff will also organise projects which kids can take part in over a few weeks these have included Fashion shows, internet safety and Friendship & bullying.
Kids Council/Eco Council
During term time we run Kids council where any of the kids can join and take part in arranging fundraisers for the service or a chosen charity. This group allows the kids to voice their opinions on how they would like the service to run, what activities they would like to do,what to have for snack, what new toys they would like etc. The group is also responsible to keep our Ralston Out of School Care garden clean and tidy, they help decorate and plant new plants throughout the different seasons too. This is a great way to give them responsibility and plan small events and projects with the help of our staff.
SNACK
At ROSC we take nutrition seriously and aim to provide a well-balanced snack daily for the children. All our staff have food hygiene certificates and provide a weekly menu of what is available. We are aware of children’s differing needs and we take account of all dietary requirements whether for health or religious reasons.
The children are encouraged to be involved in the process through discussion, questionnaires and feedback from the children’s council.
PLAYSCHEMES
We offer Holiday cover on all In-service days, as well as the October week, Summer holidays and the Easter holidays (except the Easter Friday and Monday)
We are open to all school age children up to the age of 14 years (and not restricted to children who attend the Out of School Care).
We offer a variety of activities to meet the needs and interests of all age groups, to help achieve this where possible the children will be actively encouraged to be involved in the planning as well as the decision-making process. During the Spring, Summer and October weeks we organise a variety of trips which will attract most young people. These include swimming, cinema, speed boats and tubing, as well as visits to parks, museums, castles and other places of interest.
Our holiday club takes place in the Out of School Care which is situated in Ralston primary school. We have a wide range of resources, from arts and crafts to pool and table tennis tables ensuring the children stay engaged. All our staff are highly trained and deliver many theme days which are very popular with the children. We arrange theme days for other out of school cares to attend which are also very popular with many out of schools attending.
